In Bangladesh, youth unemployment continues to rise despite increasing numbers of graduates entering the job market every year. One of the core challenges behind this growing gap is the lack of practical, hands-on, skill-based learning opportunities at the school and college level. Students are often guided toward grades, certificates, and conventional job expectations, while their creativity, entrepreneurial mindset, and innovation potential remain largely unexplored.
At the same time, young people across the country possess remarkable ideas, unique talents, and a strong drive to create. What they lack is a platform—an opportunity to turn their creativity into confidence, experience, and future livelihood.
To bridge this critical gap, Youth Career and Development Hub (YCDH) has launched a transformative new initiative:
✨ Young Creator Empowerment Project (YCEP)
A project designed to inspire, train, and empower students to become confident creators and future entrepreneurs.
🎯 Project Objective
The Young Creator Empowerment Project aims to motivate school and college students to create handmade, innovative, or artistic products—and then present and sell those products in a one-day on-campus fair.
This hands-on experience will enable students to:
-
Identify and develop their creative potential
-
Gain real-world experience in production, pricing, marketing, and selling
-
Build entrepreneurial confidence
-
Learn teamwork, leadership, and communication
-
Understand the value of self-reliance and skill-based growth
The ultimate vision is to reduce overdependence on traditional jobs and cultivate a generation of young creators who can build their own opportunities.
🛠️ How the Project Will Be Implemented
1. School & College Selection
YCDH will collaborate with education institutions across districts—prioritizing schools and colleges with limited access to skill development opportunities.
2. Orientation & Capacity-Building Sessions
Students will receive training sessions on:
-
Creativity and idea development
-
Crafting handmade products
-
Basic entrepreneurial skills
-
Branding, presentation, and customer interaction
Trainers from YCDH and partner organizations will facilitate these workshops.
3. Student Product Development Phase
Students will create their own handmade or innovative items such as:
crafts, art, home décor, recycled products, stationery, cultural items, or small functional creations.
YCDH will provide guidance and support throughout this phase.
4. One-Day Campus Sales Fair
Each institution will host “Young Creator Fair Day”—a one-day sales event where students will showcase and sell their products.
This experience enables them to:
-
Interact with real customers
-
Learn pricing and negotiation
-
Generate income from their own creations
-
Gain entrepreneurial pride and confidence
5. Recognition & Motivation
Students who demonstrate exceptional creativity and leadership will receive certificates, awards, and opportunities for further training.
6. Monitoring & Follow-Up
YCDH will continue to mentor promising students, helping them develop their ideas into micro-enterprises or youth-led business models.
